Bunny teeth is the everyday word for two central incisors that stand out from the rest of the smile — longer, wider, or angled forward, so they read like a rabbit's. Dentists do not use the phrase. They ask which of three separate things is producing the look.
That distinction matters because the treatments are wildly different in length. One of them fits inside a Korea trip. One of them does not fit inside a year.

Bunny teeth meaning: three different causes
- Protruding front teeth. The upper incisors are angled forward, often with an overjet, so they show even at rest. This is a bite and jaw position problem.
- Proportion. The two central teeth are genuinely longer or wider than the neighbours, with a normal bite. A shape problem, not a position one.
- Gum line. The teeth are a normal length but the gum sits low or high unevenly, so they look bigger than they are.
A dentist tells these apart in about two minutes: a photo of your smile at rest, a bite check with you clenching, and a look at where the gum meets the tooth. Ask which of the three yours is before anyone quotes for anything.

Do braces fix bunny teeth?
Braces move teeth through bone, so they fix the cause when the cause is position. Forward-angled incisors can be tipped back and the overjet closed, which changes the smile and often the lip position as well. Clear aligners do the same work for mild to moderate cases.
What braces do not do is change the shape of a tooth. If your central incisors are simply larger than the ones beside them, straightening them leaves you with the same two large teeth in a straighter line.
The awkward part for anyone travelling is the schedule. Orthodontics needs adjustments every four to eight weeks for a year or more. Korean clinics will start a case for an overseas patient, but only with a plan for who does the adjustments at home. How to fix bunny teeth in one week: veneers and reshaping
When the bite is fine and the problem is proportion, Seoul dental clinics work on the tooth itself. Enamel reshaping trims a fraction of a millimetre from the edge and corners, takes one appointment and no anesthetic. It is the smallest possible intervention and it is often enough.
Veneers go further: thin ceramic shells bonded to the front of the teeth, which change width, length, colour and the way light hits the smile. It usually means a consultation and preparation visit, a wait while the lab works, and a fitting visit, which is why five to seven days in Seoul is the standard plan.
- Day 1: consultation, photographs, a digital scan and a mock-up you can see before anything is touched.
- Day 2–3: preparation and temporaries. Ask how much enamel is being removed; less is better, and it does not grow back.
- Day 5–7: fitting, bite check, polish. Take clear photos of the shade in daylight before you leave.
Veneers on teeth that protrude are the shortcut people ask for and the one careful dentists push back on. Masking a forward bite with ceramic means removing more tooth, and it does not fix the bite underneath. How to get a bunny teeth smile, if that is what you want
The search goes both ways. Some people like slightly prominent central incisors — it reads as youthful in a lot of faces, and cosmetic dentists in Seoul will build it deliberately by making the two central teeth marginally longer than the laterals.
That is a proportion decision made on a mock-up, and it is reversible only in the sense that a mock-up is. Once enamel is prepared for a veneer, you are in veneers for good, with replacements every ten to fifteen years or so. Ask how the plan looks at forty as well as at twenty-five.
What to check before booking any dental work in Korea
- Who does the work. The dentist who quotes is not always the one who prepares the teeth. Ask by name.
- Materials, in writing. Ceramic type and lab matter for how veneers age. Get it on the quote.
- Warranty and what voids it. Ask what happens if a veneer chips after you fly home, and whether the clinic works with a dentist in your country.
- X-rays and a bite check first. Anyone quoting for veneers from a photo alone is skipping the step that decides whether veneers are safe.
