What the official site states
ME CLINIC SEOUL gives its address as 376 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and lists skin care treatments, injectable procedures, energy-device treatments, laser hair removal, obesity care and small cosmetic surgery including eyelid procedures.
The site states that every doctor speaks fluent English and offers consultation through WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, KakaoTalk and LINE. It also publishes a registration number as a clinic approved to treat foreign patients, and refers to a tax-free arrangement for travelling foreigners. Those are the clinic's own statements as of the check date above.

The refund that no longer exists
Korea ran a value-added tax refund scheme for foreign visitors on certain cosmetic medical procedures. That scheme ended on 31 December 2025. Clinics, agencies and blogs across Seoul still advertise it, because marketing pages are written once and rarely revisited.
This matters in two ways. Practically, do not build a budget around a refund you will not receive, and do not let a quoted price be justified by one. More usefully, treat it as a freshness test: material still promising that refund has not been reviewed since 2025, which tells you something about the rest of the page.

Reading reviews with a date filter
- Ignore anything older than about eighteen months for price, staff or process. It describes a different clinic.
- For treatment quality, older reviews are more useful, especially if the same doctor is still there. Ask whether they are.
- Cross-check the address in any review against the current official site before you plan a route.
- Treat aggregator rankings as advertising. Position there is generally paid.
- Look for reviews that mention the final price at the desk. That is the number that matters, and it is the one most often omitted.

There is one more filter worth applying, and it is about language rather than dates. English-language reviews of Gangnam clinics are written overwhelmingly by visitors, which means they describe a first appointment. Korean-language reviews are written by people who come back. If a clinic has a long Korean review history and a short English one, that is usually a good sign rather than a bad one, and a translation tool is enough to read the tone of it.

Budgeting for a treatment trip without surprises
Most unpleasant surprises in Seoul are not price rises. They are items nobody mentioned because nobody asked.
- Consultation fees. Often small, sometimes credited against treatment, occasionally charged separately at the desk.
- Numbing cream and aftercare products, which are frequently added rather than included.
- Post-treatment visits. Ask how many are included and what a further one costs.
- Prescription medication, which is dispensed at a separate pharmacy and paid for there.
- Card versus cash. Some clinics quote a different figure for each; ask which you were given.
Ask for all of it as one written total before you agree to anything, and keep the message. Every clinic in Gangnam produces this in a few minutes when asked. The only reason most visitors never see one is that the question is awkward to ask in a second language, which is exactly the job an interpreter does for you.
