Avant plastic surgery Korea: what a multilingual clinic page does and does not promise
Written by KCODI medical interpreter team · English deskUpdated · 8 min read
Anyone searching avant plastic surgery korea has probably already seen the clinic's page in their own language and is wondering how much that means. It is a fair question, and it has a specific answer that applies to every internationally marketed clinic in Seoul.
This page sets out what the clinic states about itself, what multilingual support usually covers and where it stops, the checks that apply before booking anywhere in Korea, and a second itemised quote for the same operation.
KCODI is a booking and medical-interpretation service. We are not affiliated with this clinic and nothing here is a recommendation or a warning.
What the official site states
The site gives the name as 아반트성형외과의원, Avant Plastic Surgery, on the eighth floor of a building on Gangnam-daero in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, described as near Sinsa Station.
The procedure menu we could read is weighted towards small facial work and fat contouring: under-eye fat repositioning, mouth corner and lip procedures, philtrum reduction, nose procedures, ear surgery and fat contouring. Opening hours are given as Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00, closed Thursdays, Sundays and public holidays.
The site indicates consultation in six languages and carries separate pages aimed at Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and China. Consultations can be requested through KakaoTalk, an online form, an online booking page or by telephone. Those are the clinic's own statements as of the check date above. If the operation you have in mind is not on the menu we could read, ask whether it is performed there before you plan anything around it.
What multilingual support usually covers
Language support at Korean clinics exists on a ladder, and clinics rarely say which rung they are on. Most foreign patients assume the top and get the middle.
- A translated website. Produced once, by an agency, and no indication of who is in the building today.
- A messaging coordinator in your language. Very useful before you arrive, usually not present during the consultation.
- A counsellor who speaks your language. Present for goals and price, but not medical staff and not able to answer surgical questions.
- Interpretation in the consultation room. This is the rung that changes what you understand about your own operation.
- Someone with you on surgery morning and at follow-ups. The rarest rung, and the one patients remember needing.
If you want to compare clinics on this specifically, our guide to finding an English-speaking clinic in Seoul sets out what to ask so that the answer cannot be a translated web page.
Six checks before booking any Korean clinic
Send all six in a single numbered message. A clinic that replies point by point is a clinic with processes; one that replies with a brochure has answered a different question.
| Check | The question | Put it in writing because |
|---|---|---|
| Operating surgeon | Which doctor performs my operation? | The consulting doctor is not always the operating doctor |
| Itemised quote | Can I have every line, including materials? | Totals hide the items that grow later |
| Anesthesia | Is a specialist anesthesiologist present throughout? | Sedation and general anesthesia carry different risks |
| Revision terms | What is covered, for how long, and at what cost? | Verbal reassurance does not survive a dispute |
| Foreign-patient registration | Are you registered to treat foreign patients? | It is a status, not an impression |
| Language on the day | Who interprets at consultation and on surgery morning? | These are two different people at most clinics |
The first line is the one that changes outcomes most and is asked least. Our guide on who actually performs your surgery explains why the surgeon's name belongs on the quote itself.

How to read the reviews you will find
Clinics that market in several languages generate reviews in several languages, and the volume is not evidence of anything except a marketing budget. Read them for mechanics instead of sentiment.
Useful details look like this: the quote stayed the same, the follow-up happened on day seven as promised, an interpreter was there when the consent form was signed, an item was added to the bill and here is what it was. Those are checkable claims about a process you will also go through.
Anything about how good a result looks is a judgement about one person's face, usually made while it is still swollen, sometimes in exchange for a discount. The criteria in how to choose a plastic surgery clinic in Korea are the ones you can actually verify.
Bring a second itemised quote to the consultation
Walking in with a written quote from another clinic changes the conversation more than any question you can ask. It costs you one message and no commitment.
If you are still choosing between operations rather than clinics, clinic matching narrows it in about two minutes, and you can meet the interpreters who cover surgical cases.
Between the consultation and the deposit
The hours after you leave the clinic are where a decision is either made properly or made by momentum. A short routine is enough.
- Write the plan in your own words: which structures, which materials, which anesthesia, how many nights, how many follow-ups. Gaps in that paragraph are gaps in what you were told.
- Read the quote line by line and mark anything you cannot explain. Send those lines back as questions rather than asking for a lower total.
- Check that the surgeon's name appears on the document, and ask for it to be added if it does not.
- For any implant, get the brand, model and size in writing, and ask for the implant record card after surgery. Patients who leave without it rarely get it later.
- Confirm the last follow-up date before you book the flight home, and ask who you contact from abroad if something changes.
Price talk is easier once the plan is written down. What moves the figure up or down for body and breast surgery in Korea is set out on our procedure page, and a written quote is the only version of a price worth discussing.
If the answer turns out to be no, say so by message and stop replying to the follow-ups. You do not owe anyone a justification for a decision about your own body.
