Breast augmentation in Korea takes one to two hours under general anesthesia and about seven to ten days in Seoul, with four clinic visits. Before surgery you make three choices with your surgeon: the implant, the size and the incision. Each has trade-offs that are hard enough to weigh in your own language.   • Three decisions: implant brand and surface, size and profile, and incision (armpit, breast fold or areola).

What she does on your clinic day

  1. At sizing

    You try sizers in a bra while the surgeon measures your chest width and skin. She translates the honest part: which sizes your frame can carry and which raise the risk of problems.

  2. On surgery day

    She confirms implant brand, size and incision on the consent form against what you agreed. She is in recovery when you wake and rides with you to the hotel.

  3. The first ten days

    Tightness, uneven swelling, a band that rides up: she checks with the nurse and tells you what is normal. She arranges a porter for your bags on departure day.

    Surgery

    One to two hours under general anesthesia. Most patients leave the same day in a surgical bra, some with small drains.

  3. Day 3–4

    First check

    Drains, if any, come out. Tightness in the chest is strongest now. Arms stay below shoulder height.

  4. Day 7–10

    Stitches and clearance

    The surgeon checks the position and the wound, teaches you any massage they want, and clears you to fly.

Typical price in Seoul

The range moves with the implant brand, the incision (the armpit approach with an endoscope usually costs more), and whether a lift is added. Ask if the quote covers the anesthesiologist, the surgical bra, drains and the follow-up ultrasound. Everything is itemised in writing before a deposit. If you plan body contouring on the same trip, ask the surgeon whether liposuction can safely share the session.

Which incision leaves the least visible scar?
The armpit approach keeps the scar off the breast and is common in Korea. The breast-fold approach gives the surgeon the most direct view. Your anatomy and implant choice decide which is sensible, so let the surgeon explain both.
When can I fly home, and can I carry my bags?
Most surgeons clear patients around day 7–10. You should not lift or pull heavy luggage for some weeks. Book airport assistance, and your interpreter arranges help on the Seoul side.
What about breast fillers I have seen online?
Most board-certified plastic surgeons in Korea advise against injecting filler for breast volume, because of lumps, infection and problems with later cancer screening. If a clinic offers it, ask hard questions. Implants and fat transfer are the mainstream options.
Do Korean surgeons also do breast reduction or a lift?
Yes, though fewer surgeons do breast reduction in Korea than augmentation, so ask how often the surgeon performs it. A reduction removes tissue and skin, leaves longer scars than implants do, and needs about ten days to two weeks in Seoul. Ask how it may affect breastfeeding and nipple sensation. Do implants need to be replaced?
Implants are not lifetime devices. Many last well over a decade, but you should plan for regular checks and the possibility of another operation one day. Your doctor at home can follow up with ultrasound or MRI.
