Looking at Bright Eye Clinic in Korea? Here is what to check before you book

If you are searching for Bright Eye Clinic reviews, you are almost certainly at the last step before booking laser vision correction or lens surgery in Seoul.
We do not write reviews and we do not publish patient testimony we cannot verify. What this article gives you instead is the information stated on the clinic's own site, a checklist that applies to any Korean eye clinic, and the option of comparing a written quote from a partner clinic for the same operation.

What the official site states
The clinic operates in Korean as 밝은눈안과 and in English as Bright Eye Clinic. Its English site gives the Gangnam address as Kyobo Tower, 531 Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the Gangnam station side of the district.
The procedures listed are refractive and lens surgery: SMILE and SMILE Pro, custom LASIK, LASEK, ICL implantable lenses, cataract surgery with intraocular lenses, presbyopia correction and orthokeratology lenses.
On international patients, the site states that patients visit from more than forty countries, lists multilingual support including English, Chinese, Japanese and Russian among others, and describes coordinators for overseas patients. It also states that it holds KAHF accreditation, a Korean certification scheme for institutions serving foreign patients.
That is the whole of what we can verify. We do not publish doctor names, case numbers, satisfaction figures or prices for clinics we have not partnered with, because those change and because medical advertising rules in Korea are strict about them.
Who tends to be searching this
Three groups, and they need different questions answered.
- People choosing between SMILE, LASIK and LASEK and trying to work out which one their cornea allows. The decision is made by your measurements, not by the brochure. Our comparison is in SMILE Pro and LASIK and LASEK.
- People with thin corneas or a high prescription who have been told laser is not suitable and are looking at ICL instead.
- People over forty noticing reading distance change, where the conversation is about presbyopia and lens options rather than laser.
Whichever group you are in, the examination comes first. A Korean eye clinic will run corneal topography, thickness measurement, pupil size, tear film and a dilated check before saying which procedures are open to you. Any clinic quoting a procedure before those measurements is quoting a price, not a plan.

How to read eye clinic reviews without being misled
Reviews for vision correction are unusually unreliable, because almost everyone writes them in the first fortnight when the result is still changing.
- Check when the review was written relative to the surgery. A review at day three is a review of the anaesthetic drops.
- Look for reviews that mention dry eye, night glare or halos. Their absence is a sign of filtering, not of a better clinic.
- Discount reviews that name no procedure. SMILE, LASIK, LASEK and ICL are different operations with different recoveries.
- Treat posts with a discount code, a referral link or an identical phrasing pattern as advertising.
- Prefer questions you can verify yourself over impressions you cannot: registration, the surgeon's specialty, the written quote.

If you book this clinic anyway
