What decides dental implant cost in Korea, tooth by tooth

How much do dental implants cost in korea is quoted per tooth, and the per-tooth figure covers three separate components plus anything your jaw needs before they can go in. That last part is why quotes given before a scan are guesses.

Our interpreters sit through these consultations, and the moment that changes the number is always the same: the scan appears on the screen, the dentist points at the bone height above a molar, and a sinus lift enters the plan.

This guide lists what is in an implant quote, what adds to it, and how to schedule treatment that has a healing gap in the middle of it. The estimated per-tooth range is on the Korean dental implants page.

The three parts of one implant

  1. The fixture, the titanium screw placed in the bone. This is where implant brands differ, and Korea manufactures several of the widely used ones.
  2. The abutment, the connector between fixture and crown. Stock or custom, and custom costs more.
  3. The crown, the visible tooth. Zirconia, porcelain fused to metal and gold all behave and price differently.

A quote that mentions only one of these is incomplete. Ask whether the figure you were given is fixture only or fixture, abutment and crown together, because both styles of quoting exist in Seoul.

Our Korean implant brands compared guide covers the fixture names you will see on the treatment plan and what they change.

What adds to the per-tooth figure

Common additions in a Seoul implant plan. What you need is decided by the scan, not by a menu.
ItemWhen it is neededEffect on the plan
CT scan and planningAlmost alwaysA small line, and the thing that makes the rest accurate
ExtractionWhen the failing tooth is still in placeMay add a healing period before placement
Bone graftThin or resorbed bone at the siteAdds cost and months of healing
Sinus liftUpper back teeth with low bone heightA separate surgical step, often the biggest single addition
Guided surgeryComplex or multiple sitesA surgical guide is made from the scan
Temporary toothVisible front teethA provisional crown while the fixture integrates
SedationAnxiety or long multi-implant sessionsPriced separately

Full mouth dental implants korea cost questions run into the same logic multiplied, plus a design decision: individual implants, or a smaller number of fixtures supporting a bridge. Those are different treatments with very different totals, and only an examination decides which suits your bone.

The timeline nobody plans for

An implant is not a single appointment. In the standard sequence, the fixture is placed, then bone integrates around it over months, then the crown is made and fitted. Immediate loading exists for suitable cases, but it is a clinical decision rather than a scheduling preference.

Ask also what your dentist at home would need to take over if something happened. A written plan with the fixture brand, size and site numbers is the document that makes that possible, and Korean clinics provide it on request.

What a Korea trip for implants looks like

Placement day is usually shorter and calmer than people expect. The gap afterwards is the planning problem.
  • First visit: consultation, CT scan, plan and quote, then placement, usually across a few days.
  • Stitch removal about a week later, which sets the earliest flight, as in our recovery time comparison.
  • Soft food, no smoking, and the prescribed rinse for the period the clinic specifies.
  • Second visit months later for the abutment and crown, usually a shorter stay.
  • Any grafting or sinus work lengthens the first phase and the gap.

Comparing quotes without being misled

  1. Confirm whether the figure includes fixture, abutment and crown.
  2. Confirm the fixture brand and the crown material by name.
  3. Ask what the plan assumes about bone, and whether a graft or sinus lift is likely.
  4. Ask how many visits and how many nights in Korea each phase needs.
  5. Ask what the clinic's warranty is on the fixture and the crown, and what it requires of you.
  6. Ask what is written on the document you take home for your dentist.

Korea dental implant price for foreigners is the same price list Korean patients see at a partner clinic. What differs for visitors is the visit structure and the paperwork, not the rate. Our reading a quote in won guide covers deposits and payment, and note that the tax refund scheme that used to apply to some procedures for foreign patients ended on 31 December 2025.

When an implant is not the answer

A bridge, a partial denture, or saving the existing tooth with endodontic treatment are all still on the table, and a good dentist will say so. Untreated gum disease has to be dealt with first, because an implant placed into inflamed tissue is a problem waiting to happen. Smoking also affects implant outcomes and dentists will raise it.

If the real goal is appearance rather than a missing tooth, veneers or crowns may be the honest route, covered in Korean teeth and dental aesthetics, and the claims about regrowing teeth are handled in can South Korea regrow teeth. You can also start with treatment matching or meet the interpreters who attend dental appointments.

Bring whatever records you already have. A panoramic x-ray taken in the last year, a note of any previous extractions or grafts, and a list of medication, especially bisphosphonates or anything for bone density, which dentists ask about specifically before implant surgery.

And be honest about the gap between trips. A plan that assumes you return in four months and a plan that assumes eighteen are different plans, and a dentist would rather design for the truth than discover it later. Your interpreter can state it plainly in Korean at the first consultation, which costs you nothing and saves a great deal later.

Questions patients ask us

How much does one dental implant cost in Korea?
Implants are quoted per tooth, and the figure depends on the fixture brand, the abutment, the crown material and any bone work needed. The estimated per-tooth range is on our dental implants page, with the exact figure set after a CT scan.
Does the price include the crown?
Sometimes. Korean clinics quote both ways, so ask explicitly whether the number covers fixture, abutment and crown or only the fixture. This is the single most common reason two quotes look different.
How many trips to Korea do I need?
Most international patients plan two: placement on the first, crown fitting months later once the bone has integrated around the fixture. Some cases allow a faster sequence, which your dentist decides from the scan.
What makes the cost go up?
Bone grafting and sinus lifts are the most common additions, followed by extractions, custom abutments, guided surgery and sedation. These are clinical requirements found on the scan rather than upsells.
Are Korean implant brands reliable?
Korea manufactures several implant systems used widely in Korea and exported internationally. Ask which system is being used and keep the written record, so a dentist anywhere can identify the components later.
What if a problem appears after I fly home?
Ask the clinic before treatment what their warranty covers and what it requires, and take home a written plan naming the fixture and crown. Your interpreter can relay symptoms to the clinic in Korean if something comes up later.
