A Korean thread lift: what the threads can hold up, and for how long
A Korean thread lift sits between a lifting device and surgery. The doctor passes dissolving threads with tiny barbs under the skin through a few needle points, pulls the cheek and jowl tissue up, and anchors it. It takes thirty to sixty minutes under local anesthesia, and you should plan two to four days in Seoul for the swelling and the tight, tender feeling to ease. Reading the quote
She asks the clinic to state the number of threads per side, the material and brand, and who inserts them. A very low event price usually means very few threads.
In the procedure room
You are awake. She stays close, translates the doctor's instructions, and tells the doctor if you feel sharp pain on one side so more anesthetic can be added.
The first week
She explains which dimples, clicks and twinges are expected and which are not. A thread end you can feel, one-sided swelling or fever goes to the doctor through her the same day.

Consultation and procedure
The doctor marks the vectors with you sitting up. Local anesthesia, entry points near the hairline, threads placed and tightened. You go back to the hotel with a light dressing or facial band.
Day 2
Swelling and tightness
The face feels pulled and sore when you chew or smile. Soft food, sleep on your back with your head raised, cold packs as instructed.
Day 3–4
Check and fly
A short check at the clinic if the doctor wants one. Bruising can be covered with make-up. Most visitors fly home now.
Week 2–4
Settling
Dimpling and unevenness smooth out as the tissue relaxes. Avoid dental treatment, sauna and facial massage until the doctor's stated date.
Typical price in Seoul
The range on this page is wide because the total follows the number of threads, the material (PDO dissolves fastest, PLLA and PCL last longer and cost more) and the area: lower face, mid-face, neck or nose. A nose thread lift is a separate, smaller procedure. Ask for the per-thread price and the planned count. If the doctor thinks threads will not hold your skin, the alternatives are laser lifting on the lighter side and a facelift on the surgical side.
